Anesthesia-related periodic in voluntary movements in a patient with regional anesthesia or etomidate anesthesia can be alarming. This case report describes anesthesiarelated periodic involuntary movement in a patient undergoing cesarean section with epidural anesthesia. The anesthesia-related periodic involuntary movement occurred postoperatively in the recovery room. The discussion includes a brief review of spinal cord anatomy and physiology, as well as a review of the literature describing similar events.
